Cat’s Back / Ras Crib y Garth

The race starts in the Monnow Valley from Mountain Mayhem’s base at Tybubach, Craswall, Herefordshire. It climbs steeply on footpaths through farmland and pockets of woodland before reaching the base of the ridge at the Cat’s Back car park. From this point on runners are on the open fell following the classic ridgeline of old red sandstone all the way to the summit of Black Hill where it’s a quick ‘once around the trig’, a dib at the compulsory checkpoint and a fast return descent to the start field.
