I have been involved with mountains most of my (long!) life and have enjoyed my love of mountaineering, skiing, trekking, cycling and of course mountain/endurance running in many locations worldwide and especially throughout Europe. I've competed in many competitive mountain events of which Nepal (Everest [Sagarmatha] marathon), French/Italian/Swiss Alps (Tour du Mont-Blanc, Etape du Tours, cycling Raids, Alpine Trail races, OMMs, etc), and the Pyrenean traverse were memorable. However, I'm most at home running in the mountains of my beloved Eryri.
I'm a qualified International Mountain Leader and have “worked” all over the place! I spend a large part of my year in the French Alps, but am still striving for language fluency after 30 years! I now use my qualifications for teaching mountain skills and navigation and guiding in Eryri and sometimes other UK mountain locations. I also volunteer my time as a warden on Yr Wyddfa for the National Park Authority.
In my Committee role, I offer broad support to the other roles and help out where I can, for example, assisting with prize procurement.
