Compete for the honour of being the most complete fell runner in North Wales in this series of 7 races of varying distances and levels of technicality. The overall winners will take home the coveted trophies and there will be prizes for all age grade winners that complete the series.
This year, all the races are category AS or AM, apart from one race which is category BM (What do the race categories and acronyms mean?). They range from 3 Hills Penmaenmawr at a short 4.7km (489m) to Foel Fras which is the longest in the North Wales Series at 19.3km (914m), though the Welsh 1000m Short Fell Race has the most ascent (1550m).
See below for information about eligibility, age categories, scoring, kit requirements and who to contact about the North Wales Series.
To qualify for the Series each competitor must:
Become a member of the WFRA here.
Scoring for the Series is based on the percentage of the course you could have covered in the time it took the average person to finish. This is calculated as: (A/R) * 100 - where R is the runner’s time in seconds and A is the mean (average) time of all finishers.
Your series score is the sum of your best 4 scores in the series.
All WFRA races require you to bring full kit (see the full kit list here). Please refer to individual races for further information and note that at the race, the Race Organiser (RO) will make a decision as to what you need to take with you.
